They may have taken me 3 months to actually put up online by my 2015 calendars are finally ready. Just link on the calendar images above to take you straight to my website where you can view and purchase. All proceeds from my calendar sales support our Luminous Light Project. Please also check out Franchesca’s gorgeous Lost For Words calendar too.
If you would like to have your child’s name included in our Beach Remembrance Booklet at the ceremony, please enter their name into the form below. We would love to have your child’s name touch the sand of Christan’s Beach. We will take lots of photos on the evening for you all to see.
Thank you so much.
We invite you to join us for a very relaxed Remembrance Ceremony down by the shore on Mullaloo Beach, to honour the lives of our babies and children who have left us too soon. Please read all of the information about this special event below.
DATE: Sunday 30th November, 2014 (Weather Permitting)
TIME: 5:00pm – 7:30pm (Please feel welcome to arrive and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine anytime from 5pm. The official part of the Ceremony begins at 6:15pm)
PLACE: Mullaloo Beach Oceanside Promenade, Mullaloo WA 6027 . Please refer to the map below.
WHAT TO BRING: Please note that everything mentioned below are just suggestions and you do not actually have to bring any of the things listed if you are unable to. Because we are just a friendship group we cannot raise funds for events like this one so we rely on people to help us out 🙂
A FLOWER. This year we will be having a flower exchange for the flower release. This idea came from my beautiful friend, Teresa Totino. Basically we are asking people to bring a flower to represent their baby. Once you arrive at the ceremony there will be some containers with water for you to put your flowers into. During the ceremony, when we read out the names of the babies you will be invited to come forward when your child’s name is called and you will be given a flower that has come from another family, you will then be able to walk down to the shore and give your flower to the sea in memory of your child. PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to bring a flower with you, we will make sure that we have extras there. You also do not have to have your child’s name read out. At the end of the names reading, we will invite people who didn’t have their child’s name read out to come forward and take a flower. We ask that you do not attach any ribbons or letters to the flowers as we want to care for the environment.
PRAYER FLAG or RIBBON. As we will be up near the fence line, we have decided to create a remembrance wall for our children. People are welcome to bring any prayer flags that they may have made in the past to peg to the fence. Please remember to bring a couple of pegs with you if you choose to do this. If you do not have a prayer flag, you could always bring a piece of ribbon to tie to the fence. Of course you can take these home with you.
BLANKET or CHAIRS. Please bring a blanket or chairs to sit on and we always advise people to bring a jacket if it is going to be cool or windy(keep an eye on the weather!) A bottle of water is always a good idea too. If it is too difficult to bring a picnic dinner, you may just want to bring some snacks with you.
BUBBLES. At the end of the ceremony we ask all of the children and parents attending to blow bubbles on the beach for their siblings. It is a spectacular sight. If you are able to bring a stick of bubbles with you, that would be wonderful. Please note that we will have extras there for anyone who does not have any.
RSVP. If you plan on attending the ceremony in person, please fill out the form below. For those of you who cannot be with us in person, please come back to this website a few days prior to the ceremony as you will be able to submit your children’s names to be a part of the ceremony then.
DOUBLE CHECK. Please come back and visit this website on the day of the ceremony in case there are any changes. This is a weather permitting event.
CEREMONY HELPERS. Below are our official helpers for the ceremony this year. They will all have Luminous Light badges on. So if you are in need of any assistance during the evening, please do not hesitate to approach any of us. We will be happy to help you.
Our previous ceremonies have been described as organic, magical, heartfelt and inspiring, so we are really looking forward to sharing another very special evening with you all.
With love and blessings,
Carly, Emma, Amy and Caoilfhionn at Luminous Light
Every holiday season we search for a organization to donate a portion of the profits we receive from my photographs at The Seashore of Remembrance. This year we have chosen to support an amazing Non-Profit Organization called Boulder Food Rescue in Colorado USA.
The thought of people not having enough food to eat, especially children, just breaks my heart and so when I found out about Boulder Food Rescue through an interview on Elephant Journal, I was completely in awe of their amazing heart-work. Boulder Food Rescue is a non-profit organization whose goal is to create a more just and less wasteful food system. They facilitate the sustainable redistribution of food “waste” to agencies that feed hungry, homeless, and low-income populations while educating communities about food justice. This holiday season I am giving $1 from every $15 Christmas Beach Memorial Image purchased to Boulder Food Rescue. That $1 will provide 7 meals to people in need. So if you choose to purchase a personalized piece from my Christmas Gallery, you should feel really good for helping to make a difference in the lives of people doing it tough.
You can see all of my Christmas Memorial Artwork here. If you would like to make a further donation to this wonderful organization please click here. You will be AMAZED how far your money will go. You can find Boulder Food Rescue on facebook and twitter.
