The Luminous Light Beach Remembrance Cermony

beach ceremonyYou are invited to join us for our Annual Beach Remembrance Ceremony to honour the lives of our babies and children who have left us too soon. Please find all of the information, map and registration form for the ceremony below.

DATE: Saturday 16th November, 2013

TIME: 5:00pm – 7:30pm (Official part of the Ceremony begins at 6pm)

PLACE: Mullaloo Beach Oceanside Promenade, Mullaloo WA 6027 ‎

This year we invite you to join us for a very relaxed remembrance ceremony down by the shore. We welcome families to bring with them a picnic dinner. We plan to complete the ceremony half an hour before the sun sets so that we can all watch it together over a picnic dinner.

WHAT TO BRING: This year we have some different proceedings planned. We invite everyone to bring a piece of ribbon with them. Choose a colour to represent your baby/child. The ribbon can be anywhere from 30cm – 90cm long. Without going into too many details we will be creating something that will eventually be displayed in The Luminous Light House. We recommend that whatever ribbon you bring to represent your baby that you cut some to keep with you as a memento before you come. During the Ceremony we will be reading out babies and childrens names. So that we can be organized on the day we have a form below for people to enter their children’s names if they would like them to be read out. Please understand that you do not have to have your children’s names read out if you do not feel comfortable enough. When your child’s name is read out you are invited to come up and take some rose petals from the basket to throw into the sea. If you have decided not to have your baby’s name read out you will have the opportunity to come and take some petals after all the names have been read out. You are more than welcome to bring your own flowers from your garden. We just ask that you do not attach any ribbons or letters to the flowers as we want to care for the environment.

Please bring a black or chairs to sit on and I always advise people to bring a jacket. A bottle of water is always a good idea. Sometimes the beach can be windy so that can make having dinner on the beach a bit difficult. You may just want to bring some snacks with you.

We will provide bubbles glow sticks for the children who attend on the evening.

Children, family and friends are welcome to this event.

Our previous ceremonies have been described as organic, magical, heartfelt and inspiring, so we are really looking forward to sharing another very special evening with you all.

Because we have so many people flying in from interstate to be with us this year we will be meeting up again on the Sunday for a picnic lunch. everyone is welcome to come back for that. The picnic will start at 11am and will be up at the park area next to the large car park. We will meet around the playground area. Please bring your picnic lunch and blanket to sit on with you.

With love and blessings,

The Girls at Luminous Light
